A 62-year-old pedestrian has been left with "life-changing" injuries after he was by a lorry while pushing his bike.
The man from Bognor Regis was hit yesterday morning at around 8.40am.
The Scania lorry was travelling towards Bognor on the A259 south-east of Chichester when the collision occurred close to the junction with Marsh Lane.
The pedestrian was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
The A259 was closed in both directions for about an hour while the helicopter landed and emergency services dealt with the incident.
Following surgery, the injured man's condition on Monday (2 June) was described as "stable". The 56-year-old lorry driver from Southampton was unhurt.
Anyone who saw what happened or noticed either party shortly before the collision is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting serial 458 of 1/6. Pressline
