What is the matter with the good citizens of Portslade (Letters, May 23 and 29)?
In light of service cuts and very few people willing to vote for an increase in council tax, could the able-bodied not cut their own grass verges?
If they are elderly or less able, perhaps their neighbours could lend a hand.
I for one would prefer my council tax to be spent on essential services, such as day services for the elderly or school crossing patrols.
Come on Portsladers, by the time you’d written your letter you could have the job done.
