Brighton should adopt Portsmouth's new park and ride scheme
Come on, Brighton. I went to Portsmouth over the Bank Holiday weekend and used its new park and ride scheme.
Wow! A purpose-built area and double-decker buses every 12 minutes to the ferry terminal adjacent to the dockyard and Gunwharf Quays. And there is an introductory offer of £2 per day until June 29 – then it rises to £3.50 per day.
Yes, per day! It is open until 8.30pm weekdays, 8pm Saturdays and 7pm Sundays.
If Brighton had such a scheme it would attract more families into the city.
