Exclusive extracts from the sensational new Peter James crime thriller Want You Dead will be in The Argus tomorrow, Saturday and Monday.
It's the 10th book in the Sussex author's best-selling series featuring his legendary detective Roy Grace - and this time the Brighton copper is on the fire-raising trail of a maniac out for revenge on his former lover and her family.
The plot is inspired by the true story of Alison Hewitt, a trainee doctor at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
She fell for Canadian Al Amin Dhalla, who embarked on a terrifying campaign of revenge after their relationship ended.
Our exclusive extracts are sure to whet the appetites of Peter James fans eager to follow ongoing storylines, including Grace's missing first wife Sandy and his wedding to new love Cleo, his sidekick Glenn Branson and his old foe Cassian Pewe.
Mr James said: "I'm very thrilled that The Argus is honouring the 10th anniversary of Roy Grace with this serialisation of part of Want You Dead.
"Set in and around Brighton, Hove and Sussex and starring as its central villain a pyromaniac, I feel this paper, which features often in the story, is a great vehicle to introduce it."
More than 14 million copies of the Roy Grace novels have been sold worldwide and three went straight to No1 in The Sunday Times bestseller list in hardback and paperback.
Mr James has won several literary awards, including the publicly voted ITV3 Crime Thriller Awards People's Bestseller Dagger, and his novella The Perfect Murder has been adapted into a play.
Want You Dead by Peter James is published in hardback by Pan Macmillan, £20, on Monday, June 2.
The following day, The Argus editor Michael Beard will be hosting an exclusive free reader evening with Peter James at the Thistle Hotel, Brighton.
Peter will read further exclusive extracts from his new book, answer readers’ questions and will be available to sign copies.
