Pupils at a Buddhist school have been celebrating the religion's most important festival.

Last week staff, pupils and parents at the Dharma Primary School in Brighton celebrated Wesak, which is celebrated during the week of the first full moon in May and celebrates the Buddha's birthday, enlightenment and death.

Among the songs and readings, pupils created a spiritual symbol called a mandala in playground, which represents the universe and can be used to create a sacred space to aid meditation.

A Wishing Tree was also set up in the grounds of the school for pupils to use.
