An iconic bridge will be shut during refurbishment.
East Sussex County Council and the South Downs National Park Authority are investing £45,000 into carrying out essential structural repair work on White Bridge in Alfriston.
The bridge, which crosses the River Cuckmere near Heathfield, is an important access point for residents and walkers.
Work is due to start on Monday and will last for about six weeks. It will involve replacing wooden decking and repainting the side rails and metal beams.
