Children are being invited to create a mascot for a charity.
Brighton-based Rockinghorse is calling on schools, clubs and youth groups to sign up for the challenge.
The charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton and is a vital supporter of the Trevor Mann baby unit at the neighbouring Royal Sussex County Hospital.
It also raises money for the special care baby unit at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
The winning design will be used to create Rockinghorse’s first real-life mascot costume, which will be unveiled at the charity’s dragon boat race fundraiser at Brighton Marina in September.
The winner, and their family, will be guest of honour at the event and will also receive a framed certificate.
The closing date for the competition is June 27 and Rockinghorse is asking for a donation of £1 per entry.
Judging will take place on June 30 and the top three entries will be displayed on the charity’s website for people to vote for their favourite.
