Brighton and Hove's new mayor revealed his playful side when he was ambushed by a group of fundraising superheroes.
Brian Fitch posed for pictures with Spiderman, Cat Woman and Robin on the city’s seafront on Sunday.
Super-mayor Fitch willingly gave The Argus cameras a traditional Superman pose while browsing the Mackerel Fair, outside the Fishing Museum, with wife and mayoress Norah on Sunday.
Councillor Fitch was first elected to Brighton Borough Council in 1973 and has served the city for more than 40 years. He took over from former Mayor Denise Cobb on May 18.
The trio of comic book favourites, who were raising cash for charity, quickly scampered off after the picture.
