A man was taken to hospital after a four man brawl in which a knife and bottle were used.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the fight in North Street, Brighton, on May 18 at 4am.
Three men were walking along the street when they came across a fourth man who was known to one of the group.
A fight broke out during which a knife and bottle were used.
All four scarpered before a 35 and 20-year-old were arrested nearby on suspicion of affray.
The 20-year old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. The 35-year-old was sent to hospital with cuts to his face.
The two were interviewed by police and released until July 15 and 16.
Detective Constable Aaron Halsey said: "The investigation continues and anyone who saw what happened or has any useful information is asked to contact us on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 0272 of 18/5.
