An acclaimed restaurant has appointed a head chef with experience working for some of the world’s best chefs.
Matty Bowling will head up the kitchen at vegetarian Terre à Terre Restaurant in Brighton.
The experienced New Zealander cut his teeth in his home country and across Australia before immersing himself in the Basque country and its cuisine, specifically pintxos and the art of complex flavours on small plates.
In England he has done stints at The Ledbury in Mayfair – holder of two Michelin stars and the 2014 San Pellegrino tenth best restaurant in the world.
He has also worked at three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Ottolegnhi where his training in spices radically changed his attitude to food.
Matty joined Terre à Terre three years ago and will work with director Amanda Powley developing new dishes and future menus.
Amanda said: “We are overjoyed to have Matty at the furnace of all things Terre à Terre, he is a wonderfully creative chef and well respected by all the team.
“We look forward to new and exciting dishes and plans for the future.”
