Those who are familiar with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Amex stadium will know that, at the back of the West Stand, there is a row of banners bearing pictures of former Albion players such as Jimmy Case and Bobby Zamora.

When the stadium opened nearly three years ago, the final banner towards the South Stand area had a picture of Gus Poyet.

Following his dismissal, the banner was hastily replaced by one picturing Oscar Garcia.

Now that Senor Garcia has left the club, it will, presumably, be necessary to commission yet another banner.

In order to save the club having to pay for a new banner every time there is a change of manager, may I suggest that the Albion install one with a picture of a former manager.

In my view, a suitable candidate to be pictured would be Alan Mullery, who was voted by Argus readers as manager of an imaginary team made up of the most popular players in past years.
