A large quantity of jewellery was stolen in a daylight burglary.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the break-in at a home in The Twitten, Albourne, on May 12.
Among the items taken were a gold and diamond engagement ring, a silver oval locket containing baby photographs and a number of Antica Murrion blue glass pieces including a necklace and earrings.
Another was a silver necklace featuring a book engraved with the names Debra, Rich, Amy and Tom.
It is thought they were taken between 8am and 4.30pm.
Detective Sergeant Sian Harding said: "Some of the pieces that were stolen were very distinctive and may be easy to link back to the victims if we can recover them.
"Many of the pieces were of great sentimental value as they had been inherited from relatives so the victims are very upset.
"If you are offered any of the items or have seen them for sale please contact us. We also need to speak to anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in or around The Twitten last Monday.
"If you saw anything out of the ordinary please get in touch with us."
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting serial 1039 of 12/5, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
