Congratulations to The Argus and the City Makers initiative on the formation of an army of volunteers for cleaning up our seafront in Brighton and Hove.
The potential is tremendous and exciting.
Will it be accompanied by a fundraising arm to make even more projects possible?
After the ponds have been cleared of rubbish and the city loses its shabby and tatty labels, can the City Makers’ esplanade be considered for some work?
The seafront railings require regular repainting and, in addition, there could be raised flower beds and more seating along the upper level of the seafront.
Hopefully, once the skills of the volunteers become known, we will have to hand painters, gardeners and more.
The Regents Palace volunteers have a steady supply of flower seeds from plants dating back to the Regency period and perhaps we could be given some compost from all our green waste.
The seafront would look even more glorious than before. Thank you to everyone involved with City Makers, now and in the future. Good luck.
