A pamphlet produced by “Unions Together” is being circulated which pretends to tell us what life would be like under a Ukip government headed by Nigel Farage.
It mentions cuts to wages, sick pay, paid holidays and maternity benefits. It also warns of a privatised NHS and extra taxes on the lowest-paid. The UK currently hands over millions in taxpayers’ money every day to the EU. As soon as we leave the EU this money would be immediately and permanently available to prune taxes, improve benefits of all kinds, enhance NHS services and employ more doctors and nurses.
There would certainly also be money to employ more teams to repair potholes.
Freed from this tremendous drain on our resources, the extra investment and the ability to trade freely throughout the world would boost the economy and create even more jobs throughout the UK.
I look forward to the day when we can welcome a Ukip government and the benefits it will bring to us all.
