I agree with much that was said in George Hoare’s letter (May 7) about council strategies but I don’t feel so positive.
I think they are written and left to gather dust on a shelf somewhere in council offices.
I think his choice of focusing on the allotment strategy is very interesting.
I too know many disgruntled allotment holders which, in my mind, makes for such a strange set of affairs. What is it that is making so many of them fed up and stressed?
Allotments used to be such happy places, where people had a small piece of land to cultivate and spend time relaxing and chilling out.
Maybe it is the lack of action on the agreed three-year plan or maybe something else. How can we know? How can we find out?
As there are about 6,000 people in the city who use these plots, isn’t it about time someone answered these questions?
