I am angry and saddened by the comments made by Joe Miller and Simon Kirby MP (The Argus, “Why did the Parliamentary candidiate cross the road?”, May 8).
Rather than deal with the issues of the day that affect ordinary folk, such as the cost of petrol or the fact that the Royal Sussex County Hospital has been on red alert for months, Messers Miller and Kirby resort to parochialism.
Here’s a newsflash for my MP and “prospective” councillor Joe Miller: the constituents of Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven are not rednecks, so please refrain from treating us as such, and give us a campaign based on issues and not on triviality.
Jenny Mulligan, Collingwood Close, Peacehaven
