A woman was punched to the ground and robbed of hundreds of pounds.
The 23-year-old victim was attacked by a man as she walked in South Coast Road in Peacehaven, close to the post office, at about 2.30pm on Sunday April 20.
The man struck her before running away along South Coast Road with her purse containing hundreds of pounds.
The robber was white, in his 40s, 6ft and of average build with dark greasy-looking hair.
He was wearing a dark cream knee-length coat, a black zip-up top, blue jeans and white trainers.
Kara Cunnington, from Eastbourne response investigation team, said: "This was an unprovoked attack that left the victim dazed and very shaken.
"South Coast Road is a very busy road so there may have been lots of people passing by who saw the attack or the robber running away afterwards.
"If you saw anything at all, please contact us."
