John Dace rightly highlights the effect on many older residents in the Ditchling Road/Fiveways area of Brighton, who find themselves with fewer visitors because of the Greens’ controlled parking zone policy (Letters, April 1).
He asks if any councillor is prepared to fight for a fair deal for these elderly residents.
I can assure him that I have been doing just that on behalf of residents he mentions living in Ditchling Gardens in my ward since the parking scheme was first proposed last year.
Many older and disabled residents living in council-run sheltered housing there really rely on their visitors.
Unfortunately Green councillors paid no attention to their concerns.
However, I have not given up and am still waiting for a full response to my latest request to council officers at the beginning of March to come and meet residents to discuss their concerns and find a solution.
Councillor Jeane Lepper, Labour and Co-operative, Hollingdean and Stanmer ward, Brighton and Hove City Council
