A six-year-old boy enjoyed a private concert with the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra and got the chance to try out the instruments.

Harry Watts, who suffers from a speech and language disorder, has always loved classical music but wasn't able to attend a regular concert before.

His mum Alex Watts, 34, wrote to the Brighton Dome to ask whether her son could come to a rehearsal of the orchestra and they were then invited along.

She said: “My husband and I are not musical whatsoever but Harry has always loved music.”

Harry, whose attention span is usually limited due to his disorder, watched and listened to his special concert for more than two hours.

Mrs Watts said Harry has loved classical music since hearing since he heard it on television as a baby.

His parents noticed that every time there was classical music in the background he would listen up.

Mrs. Watts added: “He knows all the instruments by name. The two he would like to play most are the bassoon and the trombone.

"Obviously he is still a bit short to play them, but I guess we will have to get him music lessons soon.”
