A football club's charity is unveiling a new look today as it publishes its annual report.

Albion in the Community (AITC) is the charitable arm of Brighton and Hove Albion and its new logo includes the club's iconic seagull badge design.

During 2013 more than 52,000 people from across Sussex benefited from the charity's programmes in community sport, health and wellbeing, education, and skills, training and employability schemes.

Other highlights included:
•More than 2,000 people took part in AITC’s disability sports programmes, making the charity the largest provider of disability sport in Sussex
•193 people gained employment through taking part in AITC’s programmes
•14,290 young people took part in football and sport as part of its sports participation programmes
• 1,980 pupils and students took part in numeracy and literacy sessions as part of AITC's education programmes
•2,000 children across Brighton and Hove took part in the charity's programmes to combat childhood obesity

AITC chief executive Michael Edwards said: “Last year saw us focus more than ever before on communities across Sussex, particularly those where both social and economic deprivation and health inequality exist.

“We were able to make a lasting and positive impact on people of all ages whether by improving their health, helping them back into work, improving their educational attainment or just by taking part in sport.”

Albion chairman Tony Bloom said: “We are all immensely proud of the work undertaken by Albion in the Community and the impact it has on communities across Sussex.

“The annual report underlines why the scheme is regarded as one of the best in the country and also highlights a whole range of social, health and educational benefits that sport and the Albion are bringing to many, many people across the county and beyond.”

The new logo uses the seagull badge alongside the name of Albion in the Community and a new tagline - Giving People a Chance.
