A drink-driver who crashed into a line of parked cars in Brighton has been banned from driving.
Jason Sumner, 42, of Carden Avenue, Brighton, was driving an A1 Glass and Glazing van when he crashed in Robertson Road on January 26 this year.
The accident at 9.30am was reported to have caused thousands of pounds of damage and written off at least two cars as well as damaged a garden wall.
Sumner, who was a director of the company at the time of the accident but no longer works for the business, was charged with drink-driving after failing a roadside breath test.
At a hearing at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 6 he was disqualified from driving for 14 months, and ordered to pay £235 in fines, a £20 victim surcharge and costs of £85.
Sumner’s disqualification may be reduced by 14 weeks if he completes an approved course.
