Sitting under the canopies of Eastbourne and Brighton railway stations I thought, “What an excellent place for a solar farm. Who looks up anyway, except me?”
Personally I think all new buildings, where possible, should have solar energy units built in.
It should be compulsory if we want to lessen our reliance on fossil fuels.
Once upon a time, householders had to install their own double-glazing and central heating; today most new homes have these things included.
So why not solar panels? Yes, the sun might only shine for a few months but so what?
Do we want to continue paying some faceless conglomerate for our electricity, or offset that cost by producing some of our own?

As long as banks and energy firms throw money at fossil fuels, bills are likely to rise as these fuels become more expensive, especially compared with renewables, which are getting cheaper as technology advances.
And as more of these fossil fuels are used, the more the global climate will suffer.
Instead, we must take back control of energy, invest in renewables and focus on sustainable energy for everyone.
