An officer had to be treated at hospital after being bitten by a woman while attending a “domestic dispute”.
The attack took place at 4.15pm on Thursday in Church Walk, Worthing.
A Sussex Police statement said: “One of the officers received a bite injury to her wrist when restraining and arresting a woman.
“The second officer, a man, sustained a hand injury during the struggle.
“The officers were treated for the injury at Worthing Hospital.”
A 29-year old local woman was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and causing actual bodily harm, and is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.
