The body of a 37-year-old woman washed up on a beach yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to the east side of Worthing Pier shortly before 6pm on Wednesday (March 26).
A police spokesman said: “We attended Brighton Road, East Worthing, opposite Splash Point, just after 6pm after reports that a body had been seen floating in the sea.
“With assistance from Shoreham RNLI lifeboat, HM Coastguard and the South East Coast Ambulance Service the body was recovered and found to be that of a 37-year-old local woman.
“There are no suspicious circumstances but the cause of death is being investigated. The coroner has been informed.”
