I refer to the great letters from Jean Cranfield and John Packham (The Argus, March 25).
Having lived for more than 70 years since birth in our wonderful city, and for a decade as a resident of Portslade, I am saddened, indeed appalled, at the action of removing history from our city.
The letters referring to Portslade old police station disappearing are very apt.
Is Portslade regarded by the authority as an add-on in its historic and current place in the city?
Let us not forget that Portslade is older than Brighton.
So why are plans being considered to demolish the old Portslade Infants School, built more than 100 years ago on the west side of Locks Hill? The freeholders are Brighton and Hove City Council.
Let’s express opinions to our local councillors and say “no” to the demolition of old historic buildings in Portslade.
