Squally winds caused a number of boats to collapse.
Newhaven lifeboat said they were tasked to Seaford beach at noon on Sunday after “a hailstorm with squally winds unexpectedly struck”.
A lifeboat spokesman said: “Tasked to Seaford beach to check welfare on a number of persons after multiple sailing dinghies capsized.
“Newhaven lifeboat, which was out on Sunday morning, exercise assisted in the recovery of some of the persons.
“All persons were recovered and well.”
