A motorbike enthusiast has a role in a TV show with two stars as they embark on a 1,250 mile adventure for charity.
Steve Keys, from Worthing, joins Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules and TV sports presenter Matt Roberts as they climb on to their Yamaha R1 bikes wearing pink leathers.
The broadcast of their international ride from the UK to Valencia in support of charity Riders for Health began last week, but continues every Wednesday, including tonight.
Mr Keys, 47, was born into a family of bikers and began riding aged nine, and was racing by the time he was 17.
He now owns award-winning motorcycle dealership Keys Motorcycles, in Teville Road, ||Worthing.
Mr Keys, who is friends with Danny John-Jules, said: “We wanted to create the ultimate motorcycle trip, and that’s what we did.
“But it’s not just about the journey – viewers get a look behind the scenes, showing the laughs and the setbacks. It is our chance to put something back into something we love.”
The ride will be broadcast as The Easy Riders on the Community Channel, available on Sky, Virgin Media and Freeview, tonight at 10.30pm.
Mr Keys also has a second TV show which will be broadcast in May and is called Challenge 125. The red dwarf star and student George Nickless, a student from Manchester who won a competition to take part, will make their way across Europe on 125cc bikes while trying to spend less than £125.
Riders for Health is an international organisation that helps maintain vehicles used in the delivery of health care in seven countries across Africa.
They work with governments and non-governmental organisations to help improve access to health care.
The series comes to the Community Channel as part of its ‘DoSomethingBrilliant’ campaign, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, which aims to celebrate the actions of people across the UK trying to make a difference.
