I wholeheartedly agree with M Davis (Letters, March 18) that Brighton and Hove Bus Company is too relaxed when it comes to hygiene and litter.

Dust and dirt lie in the crevices of the seat where the back rest meets the seat. I see the same dirty seats on the same bus proving that buses are not cleaned very well.

Sugary drinks leave dirty, sticky floors. The discarded bottles are also annoying, along with the carpet of crisps and biscuits left on the floor.

At around £4 for an online day saver, better standards are required. Drivers ought to be able to refuse filthy passengers as well as drunks and those eating takeaway meals.
