Brighton and Hove will receive just over £250,000 from a £180 million Government fund to repair roads, it has been announced.
Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin made the announcement while telling local authorities to spend the money quickly in the wake of one of the wettest winters ever.
But from a £44 million budget for south east councils, Brighton and Hove will receive just £295,048.
Brighton Kemptown MP Simon Kirby said: “The condition of the roads is one of the issues most frequently raised with me by constituents when I ask them about their concerns.
“The problem is particularly bad in areas like East Saltdean and Peacehaven, and surfaces have deteriorated further after the recent severe weather.”
It was also announced that East Sussex County Council will receive £2,645,187 and West Sussex County Council £3,475,968.
