Some cities and politicians cling to the past. London’s Mayor Boris Johnson suggested all taxi cabs become electric, needing thousands of road-side power points. Brighton Kemptown MP Simon Kirby asked if now is the time for electric trolley buses with overhead wires to return to Brighton (The Argus, March 27).
Let’s hope the Department for Transport can fall more in line with Transport for London, using hydrogen-powered, pollution-free buses on the route RV1 (as pictured with my last letter in The Argus of February 12), financially supported by EU grants.
