We seem to be becoming a nation of zombies, standing around waiting to be told what is sensible to think and do. It used to be called having common sense and being grown-up.
We shouldn’t need to be told if visibility is very poor (in fog or heavy rain, for instance), to drive at a steady speed.
Likewise, to drive carefully when near schools, as children can be so unpredictable. The same applies when travelling through forest areas or along winding country lanes because of wildlife that could dart out unexpectedly and cause an accident.
A car or lorry is a necessary machine for some work. A car to the disabled is a necessary machine simply to get from A to B.
But a car in the hands of a mindless, thoughtless idiot is a killing machine.
If they don’t care about their own lives, they could at least have the sense and decency to care about others.
