Arsonists are being blamed for a fire that destroyed a car.
Firefighters from Crawley Fire Station were called to the blaze at 4.30am by a concerned nearby resident and the damage was so bad when they arrived they could not even tell what colour the Ford Focus used to be.
It took firefighers 40 minutes to extinguish the fire using two hose reels and two breathing apparatus in Neville Close.
Once the fire was doused, the reginstration plates had been destroyed, meaning the police have not yet managed to track down the owner of the car.
The heat from the blaze also caused damage to a nearby Toyota Auris.
There were no reported injuries and the incident has been handed to the police.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
