I read with interest the letter from David Rowland (The Argus, March 13) concerning the Brighton Centre.
In response to his question, I agree it would be better to demolish this building and, as it is easy to get to, turn it into a brand-new Royal Sussex County Hospital.
It would not only be convenient for residents but the highly skilled doctors, nurses and staff deserve a better facility in which to practise their work.
Our hopeless council can only think of spending a loan of an unwanted viewing tower.
As far as a new entertainment venue is concerned, the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove, with improvements, would make a superb all-round entertainment destination.
It could aptly be renamed King Alfred The Great.
