A hospice is looking for female teams of two to sign up for a running and cycling challenge next month.
The Martlets hospice in Hove, which cares for local people affected by terminal illness, has launched its first Women’s Duathlon, which takes place in Preston Park, Brighton, on April 27.
Aimed at women of all fitness levels, competitors will complete a 3km cycle ride around the park’s cycle track, followed by a 3km run.
Organiser Antonia Shepherd said: “We are really excited about this new fundraising event, which is a gentle way into the world of multi-sports for women who want to try out a cycling and running challenge in a safe and friendly environment.
“Women of all abilities will be welcome to join us and raise funds for the Martlets Hospice.” Entry to the Duathlon costs £10 and competitors must have a roadworthy bike and a cycle helmet.
To register, call 01273 747455, email antonia. shepherd@martlets.org.uk or visit www.themartlets.org.uk.
