Those in need of help with travel are being lent a hand by The Argus Appeal.
Southern Railway is donating £500 of rail vouchers to the charity, which is dedicated to helping individuals and families within the community.
Station manager Beth Holbrook hosted the official handover of the vouchers on the concourse at Brighton Station.
Southern handed over the vouchers as part of its charity efforts in Sussex supporting The Martlets hospice and The Royal Marsden Cancer charity.
The Argus Appeal is funded by charitable donations and has been active in the community for 55 years.
Each year the appeal holds a number of sponsored events including an annual three day cycle ride across the South Downs, a five day ride from Brighton to Paris, outdoor tournaments and the seasonal Santa Bus.
The appeal is chaired by Michael Beard, group editor of The Argus, and aims to raise a minimum of £200,000 each year.
