A car driver deliberately rammed a Jaguar in what police are treating as road rage.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident on the A22 at 3.40pm on February 13.
A 70-year-old man was driving on the A22 southbound towards Horsted roundabout in Uckfield when a purple car pulled alongside him.
As the vehicles slowed on the approach to the junction they collided, causing damage to the Jaguar's side and doors.
While they were still moving the driver of the purple car then opened his passenger door to hit the Jaguar and both cars stopped.
The driver of the purple car got of his vehicle and threatened the man in the Jaguar before getting back into his own car and driving away towards Uckfield.
PC Julia Turner said: "Although this happened several weeks ago, anyone that saw what happened is likely to remember seeing the collision or the confrontation about 20 to 30 yards from the roundabout when the cars stopped.
"This was a stupid piece of driving which could have easily led to someone being seriously hurt.
"If you know the driver of the purple car, which could be a Peugeot, please contact us."
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting serial 1017 of 13/2 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk
