A woman who died in a car crash has been named as 28-year-old Lisa Watling.

She was a passenger in a car which crash in Crawley Avenue, Crawley, during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Ms Watling, of Kestrel Close, Crawley, was remembered by her family who thanked people who came to her aid following the crash.

They said: "We would like to thank everyone for their messages of support over the last few days. It is touching to see the positive effect Lisa has had on so many people's lives.

"We would also like to express our gratitude to the people that assisted Lisa before the emergency services arrived.

"We request that our privacy is respected during this difficult period. We need time to be together as a family, and reflect on these life-changing events."

She was in a black BMW Z3 sports car which left the road and collided with a fence at about 1.40am on Sunday. Both she and the car's driver, a 35-year-old local man, were taken to St George's Hospital, London, where she  died later the same day.

The driver remains in a serious condition, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
