Police are investigating a report a teenager was raped in a Crawley churchyard.
The 19-year-old woman reported she was walking from Moka nightclub in Station Way, Crawley, at 3.15am on Saturday.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said the woman said she had left the club and was walking towards the taxi office on the High Street.
The spokeswoman said: “She told officers she walked down Church Walk and was grabbed by a man as she passed the entrance to the St John's Church and was raped in the churchyard.”
Detective Inspector David Springett said: "We are going to speak to the woman again but we are not linking this to any other offences in the town. Anyone who can help us with our investigation is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 294 of 8/3 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
