Potholes in Peacehaven are sprouting pot-plants after claims they are “big enough to plant trees in”.
Daffodils have been dotted along Downland Avenue as part of a campaign dubbed The Big Fill. Residents claim there are 30 potholes in their road and even more in the surrounding area.
Resident Peggy Madej, of East Peacehaven, said: “It feels like no one cares about us around here. A cyclist who lives on Downland Avenue said his area is now a no-go area for bikes, and someone could be seriously injured or killed.”
The government has announced it is giving an extra £140 million to councils to help with highway repairs – and the residents of East Peacehaven are begging for some of the money.
