I put my recycling boxes out on Thursday, February 27, for collection the next day.
They were still there on Sunday, March 2. They had lids on and were weighed down with a couple of bricks on each box.
In the evening it started to get very stormy and windy.
I went out at 9.30pm to lock my car and found two of my recycling boxes had blown away.
I jumped in my car and drove down the road but could only find one empty box.
I got back indoors soaking wet and started laughing; I thought, here we have a Green council, supposedly looking after the environment, and now my rubbish is being recycled somewhere over the Sussex Downs because it can’t efficiently run a collection service.
This same Green council is happy to add to my yearly council tax bill. Those involved should hang their heads in shame.
On Monday morning I took the remainder of my recycling and rubbish to the tip myself.
