A man's body has been found on a beach.
Officers were called to the beach at the end of Dark Lane, Aldwick, Bognor, at 11.35am on Wednesday after the man's body was discovered by a dog walker.
The man was white, aged between 50 and 60 and had white hair and a well trimmed short white beard.
He was wearing black corduroy trousers, a long sleeved thin black sweatshirt, black socks and brown Blue Harbour deck-type shoes.
One of the shoes was on, and the other was found 20 metres from the body.
He was also wearing a yellow metal band on the fourth finger of his right hand.
He is thought to have been in the sea at some stage before his body was found.
The death is not being treated as suspicious but there is nothing on the man's body to help identify him.
Detective Constable Andrea Watts said: "If you think you know who this man is, please contact us on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 393 of 11/12."
