Colour Out of Space is a festival of experimental music and film. Since 2006 it has played host to some of the most visionary musicians, sound artists and filmmakers of the last forty years. COOS is run by Open Music a not for profit arts group based in Brighton. COOS / 6 returns in November 2013.

http://www.colouroutofspace.org/html/info2011.html Sunday 3rd November at 6pm Jeff Keen - White Dust (1970-72) - 18 Frames Fabrica Gallery at 6pm / Free Heroes, villains and archetypal characters from Hollywood and Myth are acted out by Keen’s friends and family on the streets, rented rooms and rubbish tips of 70s Brighton.

White Dust is a beautiful elegy to the poetry of long lost B-Movies, shot with Keen’s dense, dreamlike layering of images, and a soundtrack made up from music library stock.

In a project the late, great film-maker, artist and poet had originally planned for COOS 2011, White Dust will be screened on a 16mm print at a slower projection speed - 18 frames a second - further unlocking its surreal, hypnotic quality and rich imagery.

To introduce the film Stella Keen will read from Jeff’s White Dust fanzine.
