Anyone calling a number within Brighton and Hove will have to include the full dialling code from October next year, Ofcom announced today.
The changes are being made because the city is running out of phone numbers, and by making callers dial the area code it can introduce numbers beginning with zero or one.
This will happen on October 1 next year, alog with Aberdeen, Bradford, Brighton, Middlesbrough and Milton Keynes.
