Firefighters had to cut three injured people out of a car after a serious pile up in Worthing.
Emergency services were called to Upper Brighton Road, Worthing, near the Grove Lodge vet centre at around 8:45 this morning.
Three cars were involved in the crash, and the A27 was blocked westbound until 9:50, causing long queues.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off one of the vehicles to release some occupants, who were reported to be suffering back injuries.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said initial reports made no mention of life threatening or serious injuries.
The westbound carrigeway was closed but by 9.50am both carriageways were open and traffic was running, albeit slowly.
