Fitbitch Bootcamp is known for holding its women-only exercise groups in unusual locations from Brighton’s bandstand, to the sea front or using playground swings but now they want to get together and work out across the globe.

Rachael Woolston, 41, founder of Fitbitch Boot Camp, said: “I wanted to create a camp that would empower women, not just focus on losing weight.

"So far we’ve been to Lisbon, we’re off to Amsterdam in October, and next year we’re going to Marrakech and Istanbul.”

Earlier this year Ms Woolston ran the Standard Charter Mumbai Marathon alone. She was first to finish in the female veteran category.

Ms Woolston said having no one to celebrate with was an anti-climax and hopes Girls Run the World will encourage more women to enter and celebrate together.

There is no age limit to the women-only fitness and conditioning sessions which take place in different locations across Brighton.

Women can try a one-off session or sign up for a weekend or four-week camp and now train to run in an international race together.

Ms Woolston said: “A lot of women think ‘I have to do this to lose weight’ but that’s wrong, you can find something you enjoy and you can do it with people you enjoy being with.”
