Norman Baker has been moved to the Home Office in one of the biggest shocks of today's coalition cabinet reshuffle.
The Lewes MP, who until today has served as transport minister, has replaced fellow Liberal Democrat Jeremy Browne as Minister of State.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg wielded the knife as David Cameron moved to promote more women and northern MPs to his Conservative team.
Mr Browne, who is one of the party's more right-wing MPs, has been touted by some as a future leader.
