A man feared drowned at sea has been discovered by police safe and well at home.
A huge search and rescue operation was launched this morning (October 6) after a man went missing off Brighton Beach.
He had gone swimming with pals shortly after 7.30am – leaving his belongings on the beach.
When he didn’t return with the others they raised the alarm.
The coastguard and RNLI were scrambled to scour the sea while police searched the beach and coastline.
With hope of finding the man alive fading, police visited his home to find him safe and well.
