Children enjoyed a surprise visit from health campaigner, broadcaster and journalist Anne Diamond.
Families, staff and volunteers at Sussex children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House met the TV personality on Friday, September 27.
Anne toured the hospice and met some of the children enjoying the multi-sensory room, hydrotherapy pool and teenage den.
She will host the charity’s annual Snowman Spectacular Ball in December Anne said: “I am pleased to be able to lend my support to such a worthy local cause. Many people think that hospices are sad places. However, my visit to Chestnut Tree House showed me it is a place for living and making the most of every precious moment.
“I was surprised to find out how little funding the hospice receives from central Government – less than 8%. I really hope my support through the Snowman Spectacular Fundraising Ball will go some way to helping Chestnut Tree House. The hospice is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and I hope it will continue to provide care to local children for many more years to come.”
