Members and staff at Alive Fitness and Natural Health, in Castle Street, Brighton, held a Superhero Classathon yesterday (Wednesday, October 2) to raise money for Chestnut Tree House.
So far the gym has raised £450 for the children's hospice near Arundel.
Chestnut Tree's community fundraiser Juliette MacPherson said: “It’s great when local businesses like this support us, not just financially but also by raising awareness.”
Various superhero themed classes took place throughout the day, including Superman Spin, He-Man Whole Body Workout and a Mini Superhero Madness hour for children.
All staff waived their fees, as well as holding a raffle and cake sale.
Receptionist Natasha Logan, 31, of Waterloo Street, Brighton said: “We’ve had a really good response from all the members.
"Lots have dressed up, though some of our members are so super they just came as themselves.”
James Endersby, of Dyke Road, Hove, was awarded Superhero of the Night after taking part in three dynamic fitness classes back to back.
Chestnut Tree House celebrates its 10th birthday this year after caring for 280 children and young adults from East and West Sussex and south east Hampshire.
