Police officers have warned they could be forced to stand by while crimes are committed if plans for single-crew cars are put into place.
The dire warning reported in The Argus today was made at an open meeting of the Sussex Police Federation where morale was said to be at an “all time low”.
Some 300 officers have been cut from the force since 2010 with a further budget cuts of £20 million in the pipeline.
Your Interview this week is with Detective Sergeant Paul Sellings, chairman of Sussex Police Federation, who said of the cuts: “If you pay less for something the only thing you get back is less.”
